Last weekend I was in Salt Lake City for FanX which is a comic/fan con. I love doing events like this because I love seeing people dress up in not only tshirts that are from show and movies they enjoy but also people going all out and making cosplay outfits that either have a homemade look or ones that you would think they bought (which some do of course). There were two that were my favorites from the weekend. The first I saw Saturday while attending my booth and I had to run over and get a pic with them because it was from one of my most favorite game series BioShock. I mean look at that detail!! how amazing is that?
The second I saw when I was in a panel with Andy and Hammer from Game of Thrones. This girl was the spitting image of Sansa Stark! When I went to her Instagram here (follow her!!) I saw that not only did she make her outfit she also made her wig!!! I was speechless. I then scrolled down and saw that she does amazing makeup as well, she's truly an amazing artist and I look forward to following her and seeing what all she does.
Then we come to the best part of the weekend (besides making money LOL!) and that was the guys from Game of Thrones that were there to talk about behind the scenes. Since I had some friends helping me at this event I was actually able to be away from my booth for a wee bit and got to enjoy going to the two panels that these fantastic guys had.
We asked them questions and Andy who was one of the contributors who took us behind the scenes for The Last Watch a documentary on how things worked on set and who has a YouTube Chanel The Wolf and the Crows with Hammer and Bobby.
Andy and Hammer were both at FanX and those of us who got to see them in the panels and then talk with them at their booth tend to agree they were the highlight for many of us. Andy does amazing impressions of various actors and staff and his stories really made me think about the GoT story lines differently than I had before. Their love and passion for the show and the crew is evident in every response and interaction they have. If you are at a con they are at I HIGHLY recommend you go to their panels and support them any way you can. If you run a con I can tell you you will not regret having them there.
I gifted them some mugs I made with one of the most common sayings from the show and they loved them :D which made me super happy. And who knows maybe I'll go on the tour that Andy works with in Ireland sometime soon!
